Occom Discovery Center

Occom Discovery Center – All gifts at this time to the Occom Discovery Center are for the purchase of land and site development. Currently we have a piece of property offered to us in North Carolina, but there have been some boundary issues that have yet to be resolved with an adjacent piece of property. Once resolved we can begin site development, providing we have the necessary funds, of course. This property will also serve as Occom Ministries headquarters.

If, for some reason, the boundary issue cannot be resolved, we will need to search elsewhere. We do not want to do that, but if we need to search for another piece of property, we need the necessary funds. To purchase a piece of property to serve our needs, today’s current real-estate market requires us to raise $190,000 minimum — just for the land.

The cabin above is Uncle Joe’s Cabin pictured in its original location in Cherokee, NC. It is one of two camp model cabins already donated to the ODC. Currently they are being temporarily held for us by the movers. The cost of the move has already been covered. They are waiting for their new home. We also have a significant pastor’s library awaiting its final resting place at ODC.

We are hoping to break ground in 2025, but as mentioned above, we are waiting on the Lord to open property and supply the funds. We will have a better idea of how much we will need for site development and building costs once on the property. For now, we are aiming towards $300,000.
